Dr. Karana Pierre
Senior Ambulatory Consultant
Dr. Karana M. Pierre is a Podiatrist with 20 years of experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology Pre-Med with a double minor in Chemistry and French from Xavier University in New Orleans, and her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Pierre completed her residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, and furthered her education with several certificate programs, including Healthcare Change and Executive Healthcare Leadership at Cornell University and Healthcare Analytics at Pepperdine University. She is currently enrolled in an MBA program in Healthcare at Post University-American Sentinel College.
Dr. Pierre has held various positions in her career, including serving as a Podiatrist/Clinical Coordinator and Infection Control Chairperson at Optimus Healthcare, Inc. in Bridgeport, CT, consulting in Podiatry for The Connecticut Department of Developmental Services, and teaching Science at Wilby High School. She also served as a Medical Officer Podiatrist with Tohono O’odham Nation Healthcare in Sells, Arizona, and at the Kyle and Wanblee Health Centers on The Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Currently, Dr. Pierre works as a Physician Surveyor for the Joint Commission, conducting initial and ongoing accreditation surveys for ambulatory surgery centers nationally.
