Dan Thorne is a Senior Behavioral Healthcare Consultant. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 40 years of experience in the behavioral health industry. He has been in private practice as well as a clinical supervisor and administrator. Over the past 30 years, Dan has developed programs for residential and outpatient facilities, for ages from childhood up to seniors, in behavioral health and substance use. His organization in the 1990s developed case rates and capitation in a managed care organization long before the concept of value-based reimbursement arose. Dan assists organizations in becoming accredited and re-accredited through CARF and the Council on Accreditation (COA). As a Director at an outpatient mental health program in Los Angeles County, he grew the business from $2 million to $7 million while managing 500 clients and a turnover rate of less than 20%. He currently consults with organizations nationally on program development and policy compliance. He has written over 70 program statements and 30 mental health programs for residential programs in California.
